Second edition of the Global Croque Monsieur Workshop (GloCroMoWo).
Following the resounding (and delicious) success of our inaugural gathering, we are delighted to announce the second edition of the Global Croque Monsieur Workshop (GloCroMoWo), taking place from the 15th to the 17th of April 2026 in the ever-charming city of Gent, Belgium.
GloCroMoWo 2026 expands on the original recipe with an even richer and more ambitious program. Participants can look forward to an international selection of cutting-edge croque creations, where culinary craftsmanship meets rigorous (and occasionally questionable) scientific inquiry. From advanced béchamel dynamics to structural integrity in multi-layer croques, the workshop will feature hands-on tutorials, tasting sessions, keynote talks, and lively discussions on the latest breakthroughs in croque science.
This year, we place an even stronger emphasis on collaboration and experimentation. Attendees are encouraged to bring bold ideas, challenge established croque paradigms, and actively participate in both preparation and critical evaluation sessions.
As tradition now dictates, participants will once again compete for three highly coveted distinctions:
- Best Overall Croque
- Most Unexpectedly Edible Croque
- Best Scientific Poster on a Croque-Related Topic
Whether you are a seasoned croque theorist, an experimental gastronome, or simply curious about the boundaries of toasted sandwich innovation, GloCroMoWo 2026 promises to be an event not to be missed.
